FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’m new to Leads Club and I want to host a Mixer, can I invite non-members, and is there a format Leads Club follows? Yes, by all means, Mixers are supposed to include non-members to expose more contacts to the host businesses as well as introduce them to Leads Club. That is the primary reason for holding Mixers - we have in our PURPOSE, "we are not a social club" and although we do build close ties and relationships w/in our chapters membership... our MIXER is a professional setting rather than a SOCIAL one.
Each chapter has a Mixer Chairperson appointed by the Chapter Director, and that individual has a Mixer Manual that outlines the process for a successful mixer!
Could you explain The Non-Member Advertising Fee & why it is collected?? Where does the money go?
The $5 Advertising fee is collected from any one without a VISITORS PASS– the collected Fees if paid by cash are kept at the chapter by the Recorder and the Chapter Consultant or Exec. Dir. will collect when they visit – if a check is collected, made out to Lassen's LEADS Club - that is sent in to HQ's in one of the SASE's provided following the meeting or end of each month. The fees collected are put into chapter development & support materials (Mixers, trophies, certificates, new member incentives, etc.) as deemed by the Regional Team and Exec. Director.
The purpose of the Advertising Fee is to give value to the 30 second promotionals – members pay to participate monthly, VISITORS pay for a weekly advertisement, which demonstrates to the Visitor that we are serious about our advertising opportunity, and it protects members from having individuals who are not seriously considering membership from attending just to market their services (which is why we also don’t pass leads to visitors).
If a VISITOR joins the first week and has already paid the $5 fee, that is refunded to them – if they need to think about joining and wish to return the following week, the fee is not returned and the second week, they should be asked to once again pay the $5 Advertising Fee prior to the meeting and if they join at the conclusion of the meeting, $5 is returned to them. If they want to return the following week, it is with the understanding that they are returning to complete paperwork and will submit payment to secure their seat as we only permit two visits.
Does LEADS Club offer a breakfast meeting?
The Florida Lassen’s chapters has totaled 5 breakfast groups over the past 8 years and each has either closed due to a lack of support & growth or moved to a lunch format with a proven success. There are other similar lead referral groups which offer only breakfast meetings – we offer the alternative and have been able to capitalize on this throughout the region.
Obviously there are those who would prefer a breakfast meeting over lunch and visa versa – however we have 23+ chapters throughout the state that successfully meet at lunch for a reason, it works.
Why do new members have to pay a $95 registration fee? First, the registration fee sets them up in the corporate computers and they receive the new member packet and training materials offered by Leads Club. Secondly, it shows intent to commit because they are willing to make a monetary investment. Third, they are receiving a free listing on the regional website, with their email at n/c, which is a $45 value. Fourth, they are given the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals to increase their business through a proven structured format with a 30 year history... as well as receive training through events like our Focus Workshop and on the regional website.
What happens if I don’t bring new leads to the meeting? Members are not penalized for not bringing leads. It is suggested that members work to bring at least two quality leads per week to the membership. We understand that we may not always be able to do so, especially new members who are just learning about the membership and services offered. This is when inside leads are the most helpful to learn of each others services, and over time as we listen to the needs of our customers and acquaintances, the referrals come naturally. We also offer the one on ones to assist members in learning what a good lead is for the members as well as worksheets to develop the 30 second promotional as well as the 10 minute presentation. The worksheetsare available online at www.leadsfl.com under forms online.
How many times can someone visit a chapter? Can they visit more than one chapter?Aprospective member may visit a chapter 2 times or 2 different chapters once each to determine the best fit. As chapter consultants, we can also offer insight as to the chapter that might fit their criteria, and they have the members listings at www.leadfl.comto see what categories are currently in chapters. That is another reason it is important for the visitors information to be listed on the weekly summary, so CC’s can follow-up.
We have a lot of visitors to our chapter, they take applications and say they are coming back... some obviously don't join...and we've 'held' the spot b/c they asked for the application. Any advice of what to do that would work better?
With only 30 members, and a non-compete environment, they need to understand that they hold a highly desirable category within your chapter and the only way to secure their spot is with a completed application and payment for reg. fee and monthly fees. We do not advocate them taking the application with them, as you have already seen, most do not return with it. They must see the value in joining, one way for them to see this is to have been introduced to potential power partners before the meeting so they realize they would be receiving quality referrals right away. The Weekly summary that the AD completes following the weekly meeting asks for the names and contact info for visitors to allow for follow-up after the visit if they did not enroll. The April 18th Tele-classes will be going in-depth on this subject. Check the leadsfl.com website for times and call in numbers.
Can we host MIXERS and Invite all of the chapters too? We do offer a posting on www.leadsfl.comfor the announcement of mixers. Our Annual FL Networking Event provides members a Regionwideopportunity for all of the Leads Clubs to come together to network.
However, a word of caution in opening your mixers to every chapter’s membership... in that guests invited to that event should defer to the hosting club and their membership for goods or service requests. Your role in attendance is as a support and advocate of the Leads Club process. Once again, MIXERS are to enable a chapter to promote theirmembers business, available categories and build both lead generation and membership.
Why can't I belong to more than one chapter? Since most of our chapters have overlaps of multiple categories, i.e. mortgage, realty, financial planners etc., we don’t believe you can fully support the membership in more than one chapter. If you have employees or business partners that can represent your business, we encourage them to join to promote the business in multiple chapters. We fully support non-lead passing networking affiliations such as chamber memberships and would love the opportunity to represent Leads Club as your guest at networking events.
Why is the tracking of completed LEADS necessary? It offers accountability to the members as well as highlighting the benefits and successes generated through lead tracking. Visitors are especially impressed when they hear that members are making money as a result of their membership. Acknowledgement of funds received is also a way for the members to gauge the value of their memberships. The act of turning in a completed lead as thank you also validates the services offered in the club and triggers additional exposure to more services.
Why can’tmy business partner and I share one membership and alternate attendance? Our Members Handbook specifies that we offer one business/one member per category. The rationale is the consistency and repetition of information. We are about building working relationships. This is accomplished with the same representation making a commitment to the success of the membership.
